He began his professional career in the world of gastronomy on luxury cruise ships under the guidance of the most famous chefs. After returning to Slovakia, he started working in the Paparazzi restaurant, from where he was given the opportunity to run one of the best restaurants in Slovakia, UFO, where he has been working for ten years. UFO under the leadership of Jožek Masarovič has received several important awards in recent years, among them the award of the best Premium restaurant of the year from bedekr Gurmán in Slovakia and at the same time 3 Golden Forks from this bedekr for the year 2020, which is the highest possible award for a restaurant in Slovakia and so far only the second restaurant has achieved this! According to the guests, the UFO restaurant’s menu is among the best every year, even during the Winter Food Festival. He perfects his culinary skills during internships in foreign Michelin-starred restaurants and often invites world chefs to visit UFA. Last year’s cooperation with the best chef in the world, Ana Roš, was a great benefit for him and the entire team of UFA chefs. Jožko Masarovič is a creative chef who does not know the words “no” and “can’t”.

Hodnotení boli ešte šéfkuchári: Zoltán Baláž, Lubomír Lovecký, Ivan Čurgali, Miroslav Milučký, Andrej Roth, Lukáš Šepela, Tomáš Vitanovec, Lukáš Tegi, Rastislav Miškovič, Erik Šoltés, Pavol Hanák a Erik Volko.
Kuchárom roka sa stáva ten kuchár, ktorý zaznamenal najväčší progres , ktorý vyzdvihol úroveň a kvalitu svojej reštaurácie a mal v tomto roku najväčší „drive“. Samozrejme kvality týchto našimi odbornými hodnotiteľmi ako aj šéfkuchármi z gurmánskych reštaurácií celého Slovenska nominovaných kuchárov sú vysoké a prispeli k tomu, že sa slovenská gastronómia posunula opäť o krôčik dopredu. Gratulujeme všetkým 20 najlepším a veríme, že o rok tam uvidíme opäť pár nových mladých mien.
